• TOGETHER WE

    CAN GROW.

At HOPE, we’re here for you if you’ve been traumatically bereaved following the death of a loved one in a road traffic collision, fire, or drowning. We understand how devastating and life-altering these experiences can be, and you don’t have to face them alone. We are here to offer you free, unlimited support, no matter your age or background, creating a safe, inclusive space where you can begin to heal, connect with others, and find strength in community. Whatever your journey looks like, HOPE will walk beside you every step of the way.

    WHAT WE DO

    Changing Lives Through Compassion
    and Connection

If someone close to you has been killed in a road traffic collision, fire, drowning, or if you’ve witnessed a traumatic event, we’re here for you. At HOPE, you’ll find a safe and supportive space where you can begin to make sense of what’s happened—at your own pace, in your own way. Through our support groups and outreach, you’ll have the chance to connect with others who understand what you’re going through. At HOPE, no one walks through traumatic grief alone—we’re here to help you find strength, hope, and community.

    Peer Support Groups

Our peer support meetings offer a safe and welcoming space to come together with others who understand. When you feel ready, you’re invited to share your experience, listen to others, and find comfort in knowing you are not alone.

    Children & Young People

If someone close to you has died in a road traffic collision, fire, or drowning, you might feel sad, confused, or unsure about the way you are feeling. That’s okay. We’re here to help you understand those feelings and remember the person who died in ways that feel safe and comforting for you.

    Empowering communities

At HOPE, we’re committed to preventing deaths and serious injuries caused by road traffic collisions, fires, and drownings. We deliver engaging road safety sessions to young people most at risk. Our goal is to help you make safer choices and build a culture of care and responsibility. By learning together, we can protect lives and prevent heartbreak before it happens.

    How we work

At HOPE, we walk alongside you through traumatic bereavement—offering someone to talk to, someone to listen, and someone to simply be there. We support you at your own pace, and we’re here for as long as you need us. We also provide guidance throughout the Criminal Justice process, offering support wherever and whenever it’s needed.

Our peer support meetings create a safe space to connect with others who have experienced similar loss. When you’re ready, you can share your story with people who truly understand.

For young people who have witnessed traumatic events, we work closely with PTSD specialists to help them process pain, anxiety, and distressing symptoms—so they can begin to heal and move forward with hope and confidence.

    Why Choose HOPE

Choosing HOPE means choosing a community that truly understands. We specialise in supporting families affected by traumatic bereavement—whether through road traffic collisions, fires, drowning, or witnessing a traumatic event. At HOPE, you’ll find a safe, inclusive space where your grief is met with compassion, not judgment.

Our experienced team walks alongside you at your own pace, offering emotional support, peer connections, and practical guidance, including help through the Criminal Justice process. With tailored support for both adults and children, HOPE is here to help you find strength, healing, and hope—whenever “you” are ready. 3 And sometimes, comfort comes with four paws and a wagging tail.

Oliver, our gentle and friendly therapy dog, is here to offer quiet companionship and a calming presence to anyone who needs it. Whether you’re talking, sitting quietly, or just needing a moment of peace, Oliver is part of the HOPE family—ready to help you feel safe and supported.

    OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

    We provide vital
    help to people

“A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart” – Quote from an individual who has been supported by HOPE.

    Families We Work With

“Thank you for always being there.”

In this video, families share their thoughts and experiences about how HOPE has been there for them. Their words come from the heart about grief, about finding support, and about the moments of light they discovered through HOPE. These are real stories read by our staff and volunteers. The words are honest, brave and full of love. We invite you to listen—to feel the connection, the understanding, and the strength that comes from knowing you’re not alone.
