Oliver, HOPE Trauma Charity’s therapy dog, is celebrating a new sponsorship deal with Cookes Pet Supplies of Sheffield to provide him with a bag of dog food per month.
Oliver has a busy schedule attending meetings and sessions with families who have had a loved one killed in a road traffic collision, fire or drowning or witnessed such an event. He provides comfort and support for the bereaved and traumatised. To destress he loves to go swimming and running in the field. But as a growing dog, using lots of energy, he has a healthy appetite that’s expensive to feed.
That’s why HOPE is delighted to have teamed up with Cookes Pet Supplies on Queens Road in Sheffield, who have offered to donate one free bag of Seven Superfood dog food per month to help feed Oliver.
Maryann, HOPE’s Charity Operations Manager said, “Oliver is a valuable member of the team, offering love and hugs to our families and to our emergency services colleagues who have to deal with the fatal incidents that so often bring bereaved families to our door. But there are many costs associated with looking after Oliver so our collaboration with Cookes Pet Food Supplies help to offset some of those expenses.
“We’re so grateful to Cookes of Sheffield for offering their sponsorship and supporting the work that we do across South Yorkshire with bereaved families.”
Will from Cookes Pet Supplies said, “We’re proud to assist local charities like HOPE, who offer such a crucial role to people in their time of need. Oliver’s role as a therapy dog shows the power that animals can have in helping humans, by providing comfort and reassurance.”
