About Us

Welcome To HOPE

If someone you love has died in a road traffic collision, fire, or drowning, our sincere condolences for your loss. This kind of sudden, traumatic bereavement can shake every part of your life—and you shouldn’t have to face it alone. You may be feeling overwhelmed, lost, or unsure where to turn. HOPE is here to walk beside you, whenever you’re ready. Whether your grief is fresh or something you’ve carried for years, we offer a space where you can feel understood, supported, and safe.

Since 2006, we have supported people like you—adults and children alike—through the darkest moments of trauma and grief. Our support is available around the clock – just a phone call away. We offer resources in multiple languages, Braille, and large print to make sure support is accessible to everyone. You are not alone. We’re here to listen, to hold space for your pain, and to help you find light again, one step at a time.

Working Together with Partner Agencies

At HOPE, we believe that healing and prevention are strongest when we work together. That’s why we collaborate closely with partner agencies—including emergency services, schools, mental health professionals, legal support networks and other charitable organisations—to ensure traumatically bereaved families receive comprehensive care. These partnerships allow us to provide timely, coordinated support that meets emotional and practical needs, helping families feel less alone and more empowered during the most difficult times.

A Tree for HOPE

All families are welcome to go there to visit the HOPE tree.

The HOPE Tree is a gentle, living tribute where bereaved families can come to remember and honour their loved ones. Nestled in a quiet, reflective space, it offers a place for connection, remembrance, and healing. Families are invited to leave messages, tokens, or simply spend time there, finding comfort in the presence of others who understand. The HOPE Tree stands as a symbol of enduring love and shared strength—a reminder that while grief is deeply personal, no one has to face it alone.

We’re deeply grateful to Wortley Hall, to Stuart—the head gardener— and Jason for their care and support, in preparing the ground and planting the HOPE memory tree. Your kindness has created a lasting place of remembrance and reflection.
